Utah Fits All is a state-funded education savings account: homeschool students receive about $4,000 a year (ages 5-11) or $6,000 a year (ages 12-18), and students at a qualifying private school receive about $8,000, with a program-wide average account value near $6,823. Funds are deposited into an Odyssey account, the platform Utah uses to manage UFA spending, and nearly any Utah K-12 student who isn't enrolled full-time in a public or charter school qualifies. Get your Odyssey account set up
Once approved, your UFA funds are loaded onto an Odyssey account, the platform Utah has used since 2025 to manage scholarship spending. You'll use this account to pay approved providers, including Tech Tails.

Book a free trial with Tech Tails
Try a class before spending any scholarship funds. The free trial doesn't require UFA approval or an Odyssey balance, so your student can start while your application is still processing.

Find Tech Tails in the Odyssey marketplace
Log into withodyssey.com and search for Tech Tails as a provider. Reserve funds for your student's ongoing sessions, and confirm the current reservation steps in your Odyssey portal since the process can be updated by the state.

Start weekly sessions
Once funds are reserved, Tech Tails handles the rest so most families don't pay anything out of pocket for covered sessions. Remember that unused UFA funds do not roll over, so plan to use your full award within the school year.
What UFA Covers at Tech Tails
Utah Fits All funds are approved for private tutoring and online instruction, curriculum, educational technology and software, and testing fees, which covers the live, 1-on-1 format Tech Tails classes are built around. Families use their UFA award for coding, game design, digital art, AI and machine learning, or the Navigator Program for neurodivergent learners. Because UFA funds must be used within the school year rather than rolling over, most families spread their award across weekly sessions instead of saving it for later.

Do unused Utah Fits All funds roll over?
No. Unlike Arizona's ESA, Utah Fits All funds do not carry over to the next school year, so it's worth using your full award on ongoing sessions rather than letting a balance go unused.
Can Utah Fits All be combined with other Utah scholarships?
Students with disabilities may also qualify for Utah's Carson Smith Opportunity Scholarship, a separate state program administered by the Children First Education Fund (CFEF). Rules about holding more than one award are set by the programs themselves, so confirm with Utah Fits All and CFEF before planning around both.
